Andrea Sisneros Wichman
Program Director
Before the inception of the STEMulus Center in August 2014, Andrea Sisneros Wichman has helped CNM build partnerships with local organizations. She worked with Deep Dive Coders to create the Deep Dive Coding Bootcamp and played a key role in developing what has now become the “Cyber Academy.” She jokes that for her, “E” in STEMulus stands for Entrepreneur. Designed to make graduates more eligible for hire, these programs provide non-credit certificates. However, what experience has shown her is that many graduates, once taught the skills, create their own businesses. What Andrea finds rewarding are not only the business success stories sparked from STEMulus but more importantly the businesses that welcome in new STEMulus graduates.
In July, Andrea stepped into the role of Senior Program Manager at CNM. One of the challenges she faces daily is improvising creative solutions for students to afford courses. She describes leveraging resources as part of the solution and unique position STEMulus has through CNM support. Part of STEMulus’ success has been its expansion through partnership lead by Andrea’s ability to identify common goals. She has one cat named Rumpleteaser otherwise known by her daughter as Kitty J.
